President Goodluck Jonathan's National Broadcast


Announcing this today in a nationwide broadcast, President Goodluck Jonathan said the affected states have been categorized into four groups A.B.C. and D
.The Federal Government has released a total of seventeen-point-six-billion Naira (N17.6Bn) in direct financial assistance to states affected by floods across the country.
He said part of the money will also go to some federal government agencies responsible for disaster management.
Speech Break down:
1. The President acknowledged the flood menace across the country saying that the global phenomenon has finally come to Nigeria
2. He said that the FG is acting based on  the report of the technical committee set up to assess the flood situation across Nigeria.
3. The Vice President and President will visit some affected areas.
4. Short and long term measures are to be taken
5. National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) according to Mr President, has spent N1.314Bn for immediate relief materials. 
6. Federal ministry of works has spent a total of N556m on collapsed bridges and by-passes.
7. Federal ministry of  Environment has spent N95m on sundry relief material.
States
States are to get N13.3Bn while Federal government agencies are to get N4.3Bn 

Divided into four(4) groups of A, B, C and D;




Group A States will get N500m each. Such states include;Oyo, Kogi, Benue, Plateau, Adamawa, Delta, Bayelsa and Anambra.

Group B States will get  N400m each. Such states include;Jigawa, Kano, Bauchi, Kaduna, Niger, Nassarwa, Taraba, Cross rivers, Edo, Lagos and Imo.

Group C States will get N300m each to include;Kwara, Katsina, Gombe, Ogun, Ondo, Ebonyi, Abia and Rivers.

Finally, the Group D States will get N250m each. The states include; Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara, Yobe, Enugu, Ekiti, Osun, Akwa Ibom, Borno and the FCT.

Federal Ministry of Works is to be given N2.6Bn
National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) will get N1.1Bn
Federal Ministry of Environment will get N350m
National Commission for Refugees - N150m
The technical Committee on Floods Impact Assessment - N100m


The National Committee on Flood Relief  and Rehabilitation is to assist the FG  raise funds  to mitigate the pains and ensure the effective post impact rehabilitation of victims.
The Committee is to be Co-chaired by Alhaji Aliko Dangote and Olisa Agbakoba, just as Dr Mike Adenuga Junior will serve as the Chief Funds mobilizer. He said full details of the committee will be announced later today.

What do you guys think.He didnt mention anything about the killing of the 4 Uniport students,neither did he mention the mubi massacre .
