Buhari says those indicted in arms deal scandal will be sent to jail

President Buhari says those who are found guilty in the $2.1 billion arms deal fraud will be sent to jail. He said this in a recent interview with BBC Hausa
“Remember during the campaigns, we said Nigeria is facing three things and nobody disputed that assertion. Firstly, there was widespread insecurity, a war in the north-east, while the country’s oil was being stolen at random in the south; secondly, there is massive unemployment.
Thirdly, bribery and corruption was basically suffocating the country. If we don’t kill these monsters, this country would go down. That is why those who stole monies meant for arms procurement and shared it among themselves are being arrested and are being shown documents so that they would be asked to refund the money or face prosecution. We would use those documents to prove what they stole, collect all the assets acquired from the proceeds and then jail them”he said

FFK writes open letter to Buhari

Mr. President, as one of your most loyal and faithful subjects who has nothing but the utmost respect for your person and your office, I am constrained to write you this open letter. This is because there are a number of issues that I believe that it is important for you to clarify and to come clean on.
I say this because some of your assertions of late are at best contradictory and at worst patently dishonest. Whichever side of the political divide we are on I believe that we can all agree on one thing: that the prosecution of the war against terror is not something that any of us should play politics with. This is especially so given the fact that human lives are at stake and the very existence of our nation is under threat. Like much of the rest of the world our country is going through hell at the hands of the jihadists and Islamist terrorists.

Islamfobia by Charly Boy

CNN, and the social media has been agog with the latest Donald Trumps declaration of banning Muslims from entering America. For the past few days I have remained fixed on CNN watching how the American media has become so bemused with Trumps soaring position at the polls, regardless of his very wild and unpresidential statements. The fixation on a candidate who trades yabis for substance has become awesome. There seem to be this love hate relationship with the American media. Hummmmmmm! America for show.

MY 9/11 by Charly boy

I remember growing up as a teen in Port Harcourt at number 11 Ohafia street, those were the good old days just before our independence. I was a very playful kid, always rallying around me playmates who were often not in the class of kids that my parents would have loved for me to associate with. My parents I remember always frowned at my choice of friends, they wanted me to keep the company of their friends children who also went to very private schools like me but those ones were no fun to be with, I preferred the company and friendship of the drivers and cooks children, they were more free and had no airs about them. In those days, I always wondered why they didn't have as many toys as I had, or why they never had their own rooms to themselves.
