An eyewitness at the scene of the accident said that the accident would have earlier occurred at Bode area of Ibadan where the two waste collection trucks began their journey en-route Saka-Pena/Idi-Arere area of Ibadan.
According to Saheed, an eyewitness, one of the two waste collection trucks that caused the fatal accident was stationary at Bode area of Ibadan after it developed a mechanical fault. “But around 1.05 p.m, another waste collection truck came to the spot where the first one was stationary to tow it to their office. The two trucks were tied together with a rope by the drivers and were moving towards Bere area of Ibadan, probably to their office to rectify the mechanical fault in the broken-down truck,” he stated.

Saudi Arabia Wednesday deported the 171 female pilgrims who had gone to the Holy Land from Katsina and Taraba States. They all landed at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA), Kano from the Medina Airport, all looking dejected and with tales of woes from an unaccomplished mission. Wife shoots husband over cat (video)
A Texas woman shot her husband to protect her cat,authorities say.
Deputies
told KHOU.com that Miller and her husband had been arguing at their
home on Tuesday morning when he “threatened to shoot her cat with a
pellet gun.”
It was then that Miller, who owns several cats and dogs, allegedly pulled out a .40-caliber semiautomatic handgun and shot her husband in the stomach.
“The husband was trying to do something to the cat and the wife was just trying to protect her cat,” said Assistant Chief Mark Herman of Harris County Precinct 4.
Miller was arrested on the scene and has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Her husband was taken to the hospital and underwent surgery for his wounds. He was listed in stable condition as of Tuesday afternoon.
As for the cat, reports say the animal escaped the incident unscathed.
At least one neighbor told KPRC that the couple seemed pleasant enough.
“They’ve been nice neighbors and quiet,” Debra Best told the station.

65-year-old Grandmother arrested with cocaine at lagos airport
“Every arrangement appeared to have been made for a 65-year old grandmother to smuggle 1.740kg of cocaine into London in herbal syrup,” said Mitchell Ofoyeju, NDLEA Head of Public Affairs.
“It was not her fist time of going to London and the drug was cleverly packed to avoid detection. It was packed in balloons and inserted in ten plastic containers of herbal syrup,” Ofoyeju said
“She was caught during the screening of British Airways passengers to London. The cocaine found in her possession was packed in balloons and prepared into the shape of the plastic bottles. It was also wrapped in black polythene inside 10 plastic bottles of local herbal mixtures. Each bottle was neatly sealed to avoid suspicion,”
Preliminary investigation, NDLEA said, revealed that she is also known as Chika Okoye.
“She speaks Ibo and Yoruba fluently. Her father is a native of Abeokuta while her mother hails from Owerri, Imo State,” NDLEA said.
The agency said that the suspect currently lives alone in Owerri and sells clothes to earn a living.
NDLEA alleged that the suspect claimed ownership of the drug in a statement and explained that it was given to her by a friend. Chairman/Chief Executive of the NDLEA, Ahmadu Giade was quoted as saying that NDLEA is investigating her claim.
“The case is under investigation to ascertain her role. This is very worrisome considering the fact that she is a grandmother,”
NDLEA said the suspect will soon be charged to court.

Chris Collier, 40, battered wife Julia, 35, before smothering her to
death at the couple’s apartment in Kusadasi, on the Aegean coast of
Turkey.

reliable sources have disclosed. Mrs. Jonathan was flown to a hospital
in Wiesbaden, Germany close to a month ago to undergo emergency
treatment after a botched procedure in Dubai.In an interviews with three sources familiar with Mrs. Jonathan’s health
status, it was learnt that the Nigerian president’s wife is beset by
Parkinson’s disease, a degenerative syndrome. The disease is a
progressive disorder of the nervous system. A medical source described
it as “a fairly common disorder that occasions degeneration of the
nervous system.” The source added that the disease leads to “progressive
impairment and disorder of movement.” An online medical site notes that
Parkinson’s “is characterized by progressive loss of muscle control,
which leads to trembling of the limbs and head while at rest, stiffness,

My wife is very sharp, I mean, she is such an intelligent woman and can easily trace this true confession to me. For the fact that I love her so much, I cannot let a thing fall in-between us. That is why I have kept this as top-secret till today; but I will have to let this out of the bag.
I’m not oblivious of the fact that most issues of this nature are
blamed on the men whom most of us see as womanizers; but mine is a
different thing entirely. I’m not a womanizer. I have tried everything

hold-up and other issues, I will get in around 5-6pm. She started by

time I knock, on arrival.

some reasons why we should send her away, and I had told her that she
was getting so stubborn and lazy; hence, she is as good as no
House-help.
My wife who claimed she had never experienced that had accused me of
formulating things against the lady. She told me that I wanted her out
of the house because I had seen that she will soon secure admission into
the higher institution, and I will soon begin to pay for her school
fees.
I couldn’t tell her the truth, because something tells me it will be
disastrous. I just felt I could handle the matter in the most
professional way. But right now, things have gone out of hands since the
past 2 weeks. I have done virtually everything that can be considered
dirty with her except that I have not done it with her yet. What’s
keeping me from doing it is my conscience and for the fact that I can’t
do that in my matrimonial home.
That sin will be so grievous, I know. She had asked me repeatedly
last week if she can meet me in any of the hotels around town this
weekend since my wife will be around then.
She has just Saturday and Sunday to take care of her hair and visit
friends, and she wants to use that opportunity to have me all to
herself. Now, I’m contemplating on this issue. All I need is your
advice; Saturday is just 2 days from today, and I can’t make up my mind
on what to do.
I love my wife, but I think I’m becoming so foolish in the name of being faithful. Please, tell me; should I do it or not?

Cynthia's Murder:Court grants two suspect bail,remands driver
The suspects granted bail – Nonso Ezike
(22), who is the younger brother to Olisaeloka, one of the alleged
killers, and Ezeaka Chinonso (27) – were arrested by policemen at Area E
for receiving and selling Cynthia’s BlackBerry phone.
Nonso’s lawyer, Mr. J. C Ngobili, told
the court that the accused was a student of the Federal University of
Technology, Owerri, and prayed the court to grant him bail in liberal
terms.
The Magistrate, Mr. P.A. Adekomaya,
admitted that although the offences were bailable, he pointed out that
the bail condition ought not to be too liberal in view of the
circumstances surrounding Cynthia’s murder.
He granted Nonso and Ezeaka bail in the
sum of N500,000 each with two sureties in like sum, adding that the
sureties must not be teachers or local government employees. He added
that the sureties could be bank tellers.
The third accused person, Gideon
Okechukwu, a driver, was however charged with eight counts of murder,
rape, robbery, conspiracy, administering a harmful substance to the
deceased among others.
Okechukwu had told PUNCH Metro before he
was arraigned that he only drove the alleged killers from the area
where the hotel was situated, adding that he had no role in Cynthia’s
murder.
Okechukwu’s lawyer, Bello, prayed the
court to also grant the accused bail, adding that he had been held at
the State Criminal Investigation Department.
The magistrate, who quickly interjected,
explained that it wasn’t within the jurisdiction of the court to grant
bail for such offences.
Okechukwu was remanded in Ikoyi Prison. The matter was adjourned till October 3, 2012.
