PDP House of Reps aspirant allegedly caught with 4000 PVCs in Enugu


 Dr Chukwuemeka Ujam  was a PDP House of Representative aspirant in the concluded 2015 elections. The former Commissioner for Land in Enugu State contested for the Nkanu East/West seat. He was allegedly caught with 4000 PVCs in Enugu yesterday by the military, who paraded him. More photos after the cut.

FFK says PDP is ahead in the presidential elections by at least 2/3 million votes

Press statement from the director of Media and publicity, PDP presidential campaign organization, Femi Fani-Kayode.We wish to take this opportunity to make it clear to the Nigerian public that according to the figures made available to us, we are ahead in the presidential elections by at least two to three million votes. Wife stabs husband to death over APC,PDP presidential candidates in Lagos

A 26 year old pregnant wife simply identified as Onyiyechi has been arrested by the Lagos state police command for stabbing her husband to death following an argument over the presidential candidates in Saturday's general election at their home in Ejigbo on Sunday March 29th.
According to a report by Vanguard, the husband was  supporting PDP while Onyiyechi supported the APC. An arguement over who would win the presidential election degenerated into a fight with the wife stabbing her husband inside their one room apartment at the 81 military zone junction in Ejigbo
A neighbor in their compound narrated what happened, He said;

Graphic pics: man shot dead as violence breaks out at INEC office in Bauchi

 The man in the photo  was allegedly shot dead by a soldier this morning at Bauchi's INEC Office after the military tried to gain access into the office. Residents of the state had blocked the military from entering the office as results were being collated and this sparked the violence. The residents had held a vigil outside the INEC office to await the announcement of last Saturday's election when the military showed up. Another man was hit by a stray bullet.

 There has been shock and fear ,over a strange baby born at a maternity centre (name withheld) situated at Ifosan area of Ilesa, in Osun State.
Speaking with Saturday Tribune during the visit on Thursday, the proprietress, (she is called matron by her staff) said  the woman who gave birth to this deformed baby was “about 25 years old and she has been without a child for three years.”

Nigeria police force warns on deployment of unauthorised uniformed security agencies to polling units

    The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Suleiman Abba, CFR, NPM, NPOM, mni has ordered that on no account should uniformed private/government security agencies and voluntary organisations such as Boys Scout, Vigilante Group, Boys Brigade, Peace Ambassador, Man’O War etc, be seen in uniform within 300metres of a Polling unit. Again, the Police High Command has restated the restriction of vehicular movement during the general elections on 28th March, 2015 and 11th April, 2015, respectively.

 Celine Dion broke down in tears as she opened up about while  her manager and husband René Angélil's battle with throat cancer.The 46-year-old star has been married to Angélil, 73 since 1994 after knowing each other for 14 years .They have three sons ,the youngest being 4 and the oldest 14.

2015 elections: Obasanjo warns against military take-over

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has warned against a military takeover following any issues that might arise from the 2015 general elections. Chief Obasanjo gave the warning today while receiving APC South West women led by Mrs Aisha Buhari.
    "I do hope we will get things more right. A lot of rumors are flying around, I think we have gone away from the rumor of Interim Government because that is not in our constitution. 10 executive committee members of APC in Adamawa defect to PDP

Ten executive members of APC in Adamawa state defected to PDP this morning March 24th. The APC members said they were moving over to PDP so as to give support to the PDP governorship candidate in the state, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu.
Their defection was announced at Adamawa PDP Secretariat by the publicity secretary of the APC, Padio Phineas.

Germanwings Plane with 148 onboard crashes in France



A passenger plane has crashed in the French Alps,,According to reports the plane Germanwings owned by Lufthansa was flying from Barcelona in Spain to Dusseldorf, Germany, when it disappeared from radar in the Alpes de Hautes Provence.A total of 142 passengers, two pilots and four cabin crew, were on board.The flight was midway to their destination when it came down.The French president says there are little chances of survivors .The plane dropped from 38 thousand feet to 24 thousand feet in 7 minutes,before disappearing from radar..

Younger brother of Petroleum Minister, Alison-Madueke kidnapped

5 months after her sister Osiyo Agama was kidnapped, the younger brother of Minister of Petroleum, Mrs. Alison-Madueke, Joseph Agama has also been kidnapped. He was kidnapped by unknown gunmen in Bayelsa state today. Confirming his kidnap, the spokesperson to the Bayelsa state Police command, Asinim Butswat said the incident happened at about 12.30am today.
The kidnappers rode in a speedboat and stormed Yenaka Community, a coastal settlement in Yenagoa LGA at about 12.30am and forcefully abducted Mr Agama. The family is yet to hear from the kidnappers.

Federal Government reduces electricity tariff by over 50%

The Federal Government has announced the reduction in electricity tariff by half. Chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, Sam Amadi, who made the announcement in Abuja today March 17th, said after a review of the tariffs being paid by Nigerians, the commission agreed to slash it by half. The reduction takes effect from the end of March.He said the commission agreed to remove the Multi-year tariff order, MYTO 2.1 following multiple petitions and complains from Nigerians especially members of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria who said inclusion of the MYTO 2.1 caused them to spend more on their businesses and in some cases loss of jobs.

ISIS accepts Boko Haram's plea of allegiance

According to AFP, ISIS has now accepted the allegiance of Boko Haram. Find the report below...
    The Islamic State group has welcomed a pledge of allegiance to it made by the Nigerian jihadist organisation Boko Haram, according to an audiotape Thursday purportedly from its spokesman.
    "We announce to you to the good news of the expansion of the caliphate to West Africa because the caliph... has accepted the allegiance of our brothers of the Sunni group for preaching and the jihad," IS spokesman Mohammed al-Adnani said in the message, using the Arabic name for Boko Haram.

Former Ivorian First Lady Mrs Simone Gbagbo has been sentenced to 20 years imprisonment by an Ivorian court for organizing post election violence after her husband, Laurent Gbagbo lost out in the 2010 Presidential elections in Ivory Coast.

Prof. Osinbajo seeks N2b damages against Fani-Kayode over oath comment

APC’s VP candidate, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo has commenced legal actions against Femi Fani-Kayode over the statement he made last weekend that he (Osinbajo) swore an oath with former Lagos State Governor, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to step down six month after election.
Osinbajo, through his lawyer, Femi Falana is seeking N2billion damages for the alleged defamatory statement, he is also demanding a retraction of the statement and an apology which must be aired on four television stations and published in four national newspapers

750 APC women defect to PDP in Sokoto state

No fewer than 750 women from the All Progressives party from the 23 local governments in Sokoto State on Tuesday defected to the Peoples Democratic Party.The decampees, led by Luba Dubai, an APC chieftain, were received by the state Chairman’s wife, Sa’adiya Milgoma, at the PDP women rally in Sokoto on Tuesday.“The new entrants will be treated equally and fairly, and we should all work to ensure the success of the party at the forthcoming polls at all levels,’’ Ms. Milgoma said.

FCT Minister’s Nephew Kidnaps Brother, Demands N10m Ransom

 The Police in Bauchi State have arrested one Salisu Salmanu, who claimed to be a nephew of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Senator Bala Mohammed, for kidnapping.
The police said Salmanu connived with his friends to kidnap his three-year-old younger brother at Kofar Idi in Bauchi and demanded a ransom of N10m from his father.

Chris Brown has a 9 month old daughter?

According to a report by TMZ, Chris Brown is the proud father of a 9 month old baby girl.
    The baby's mother is a 31-year-old former model named Nia -- who we're told has known Chris for several years. Sources connected to both Nia and Chris tell us they are on very good terms -- however they're not together romantically. We're told 25-year-old Chris is happy about being a father.
    It does not appear there is a formal child support order in place -- and we do not know the nature of any informal terms of support.

'I will not lose the elections' Pres. Jonathan tells AlJazeera in new interview

n an interview with Al-Jazeera TV which aired yesterday, President Jonathan said that he'll not lose the upcoming Presidential election. He also said the increase in the activities of Boko Haram in Nigeria is not as a result of his mishandling of the group and that Boko Haram did not start with him. Speaking about Jega, the president said he's never had any discussions with anyone to remove him. He affirmed that the elections will not be postponed again. Excerpts from the interview after the cut

This young girl's stepmother, 28-year-old Christiana Faturoti,  allegedly threw her there as a punishment because she soiled herself. After putting the child in the room, she padlocked it and left for her workplace.For over two hours on February 17, the little girl, who turned two on February 15, 2015, groaned and moaned, until a neighbour heard the sound and traced it to an unoccupied room which was padlocked. After peeping and seeing the girl in such a condition, the neighbour quickly alerted the police at Itori police station. Christiana was promptly arrested and is currently undergoing interrogation at the Anti-Human Trafficking section of the Department of Criminal Investigation, Ogun State Police Command.

Ebola: Sierra Leone Vice-President Quarantined

 The vice-president of Sierra Leone has put himself into quarantine after one of his bodyguards died from Ebola. Samuel Sam-Sumana said he would stay out of contact with others for 21 days as a precaution.There was optimism the virus was on the decline in Sierra Leone at the end of last year but there has been a recent increase in confirmed cases.Nearly 10,000 people have died in the outbreak, the vast majority in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone. So the vice-president is taking no chances.



APC Spent N5 Billion On Buhari’s Chatham House Speech, PDP Alleges

The spokesperson of President Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign organisation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has alleged that the All Progressives Congress, APC, spent N5 billion to set up a speaking engagement for its presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari, at Chatham House, London, last week.
Mr. Buhari on Thursday presented a paper titled “Prospects for Democratic Consolidation in Africa: Nigeria’s Transition” at Chatham House in London.

Mugabe's party which held at a luxury hotel in the famed Victoria Falls resort reportedly had Elephants on the menu for the feast, loads and loads of cakes including a mini Mugabe cake(pictured above) and 91 hearty Balloons.
