Gunmen Kidnap 3 Female Passengers Traveling In A Bus Owned By God Is Good Motors

A 38-year old woman, Ms. Naomi Obot, and two other women were kidnapped by armed bandits at about 6:30 pm on Thursday while traveling from Lagos through Abagi to Abuja in a bus owned by a transport company,  God is Good Motors. Ms. Obot and the two other women were on the first bus that departed the company's Lagos terminal at about 6 am on the 21st of December.

Pope Francis grant all catholic priests power to forgive abortion


 Pope Francis, who is the 266th and current Pope of the Roman Catholic Church, has granted all priests the power to forgive abortion, a right previously reserved for bishops in most parts of the world. He said:
    ‘I henceforth grant to all priests, in virtue of their ministry, the faculty to absolve those who have committed the sin of procured abortion.

'Fulani herdsman' nabbed with sophisticated gun in Enugu State

 A suspected Fulani herdsman was arrested yesterday, August 30, in Affa Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State.
The suspect identified as one Ibrahim Adamumale and said to be about 20 years old was allegedly in possession of AK 47 Riffle with 24 rounds of live ammunition. Upon interrogation, he claims to be from Nassarawa State but lives at Hausa quarters 9th Mile.The suspect is now helping the police in their investigations.

Mallam Dauda Lawal, has revealed what he told the Economic and Financial Crime Commission

The Executive Director in charge of Public Sector at First Bank, Mallam Dauda Lawal, has revealed what he told the Economic and Financial Crime Commission when he was detained sometimes ago.
Lawal, in a statement in Abuja on Wednesday, said that he was actually questioned about his relationship with a former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke.
He said it was true that his “name has featured prominently in the EFCC investigations of Mrs. Deziani Allison-Madueke, the former Minister of Petroleum Resources under the government of President Goodluck Jonathan”.

Chairman of the Chibok Community in Borno state, Hosea Tsambido has said he and other members of the Chibok community regret giving out their votes during the 2015 general election.
Tsambido, who spoke during the Bring Back Our Girls march to Aso Rock this morning, said no government official has reached out to them since the new video showing their abducted daughters was released by Boko Haram members on Sunday August 14th.

Mikel Obi to donate his own share of $200,000 gift from Japanese surgeon to his teammates

After Japanese multi millionaire surgeon Katsuya Takasu kept to his promise by donating $390,000 to Nigeria's team that won Bronze at Rio 2016, reports now have it that Mikel Obi has agreed to donate part of his own share to his U-23 teammates at the just concluded Rio 2016.
Some earlier reports had revealed that the NFF wanted to take some share of the gift from the surgeon, but the NFF over the weekend dismissed such reports in a series of tweets saying they only wanted to ensure due process.

According to government sources, the move is to help reduce the amount of money being spent on electricity bills in the state. NDLEA arrests man with N9.8m fake currency(Photo)


The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency in Kwara on Friday said it arrested Mohammed Adamu for possessing N9.8 million fake currency notes.
The NDLEA Commander in the state, Mr Apeh Reuben, who presented the suspect to newsmen in Ilorin said the fake currency were mainly N1,000 notes,concealed the fake notes in a carton of noodles wrapped with cello tape.
He said that the suspect was arrested while on transit to Kano on Aug. 9, 2016.
The commander said that Adamu conspired with a yet-to-be-identified individual in Ilorin to carry out the act.

The police in Abuja have arrested three suspected fraudsters, who held a businessman hostage at Durumi, Area One, seized his property documents and forced him to sign a Diamond bank cheque for N8,050,000.
The gang also cashed three additional cheques totalling N450,000 from the bank account of their victim before their operation was foiled by the police, who responded to a distress call from residents.
The suspects, Okechukwu Emeka (39), Ugorji Maranatha (37) and Momoh Jimoh were arrested soon after.
The businessman, identified as Mr. Efulu, had advertised online that a duplex at Prince and Princess Estate, Gaduwa, Abuja, was for sale with a N160m price tag.

FRSC to enforce use of speed limit devices on all commercial vehicles from October 1st

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) will on October 1st commence the enforcement of use of speed limiters on all commercial vehicles nationwide. Corps Marshal of FRSC, Boboye Oyeyemi announced this during a meeting held at the FRSC National Headquarters Abuja yesterday August 10th with stakeholders from relevant government agencies and road transport unions in attendance.

Baby Girl With Two Heads Born In Indonesia (Photo)

A baby girl has been born with two heads in Indonesia. The newborn was delivered on Monday in a hospital in Gresik on the East Java province of Indonesia.
The infant is currently in an incubator under the care of nurses at Ibnu Sina General Hospital.
The girl weighed in at 4.2 kg and was diagnosed with Parapagus, a rare form of partial twinning where there are two heads and two necks side by side on one torso.

UK Launches 24-Hour Visa Service in Nigeria

 The UK has launched Super Priority Visa Service in Nigeria to allow customers to process their applications within 24 hours.
The British High Commission, on its website, said the new service was to particularly meet the needs of those who required urgent service to travel.
The High Commission quoted the British High Commissioner, Paul Arkwright, as welcoming the introduction of the Super Priority Visa service in Nigeria.

'We underestimated the damage to Nigeria when we offered change' - Sen Bala Ibn Na'allah

Deputy Leader of the Senate, Senator Bala Ibn Na'allah has said his party, APC, underestimated the damage done to Nigeria by the last administration when they offered change during the campaign last year. According to Na'allah, the present hardship being experienced by many Nigerians is as a result of the problems created by the last administration. He said this in a new interview with Daily Trust.
    "I am a Nigerian first before becoming a senator and therefore, if it worries Nigerians, I should equally be worried. But, the thing is that I don’t have the authority to speak on behalf of my party. It is equally true that I don’t have the authority to speak on behalf of the Senate. But, as a citizen and as a senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, from the perspective I have seen things, it is obvious that the APC led federal government underestimated the damage that was done to the country when they offered themselves to provide the change Nigerians required.

Parents complain after FG increased fees of Unity schools from N20k to N75k

Parents who have children in Federal government owned schools (Unity schools) are complaining at the sudden increase in schools fees. A circular sent to the parents on June 1st stated that fees have been increased from N20,000 to N75,000, that is about 375% increment.
At the end of its National Excutive meeting yesterday August 7th, the president of the National Parents and Teachers Association of the Federal Government Colleges, Gabriel Nnaji, said it is untimely and insensitive of FG to increase fees in this period of economic hardship.

A former speaker of the House of Representatives, Ghali Umar Na’Abba, yesterday fired back at former President Olusegun Obasanjo on his allegation that members of the National Assembly are corrupt.
Na’Abba, while fielding questions from newsmen in Kano said Obasanjo was one of the most corrupt Nigerians. He said the former president should explain to Nigerians how he became one of the richest Nigerians after leaving office, when he had virtually nothing before he assumed office.
