Declaring the glamorous occasion open, the Chairman ,the Special Assistant To The Deputy President Of the Senate On Political Affairs , Hon Okey Ozoani said the pronounced appearance at the MBSN DEMOCRACY unveiling was because the Queen’s Pet project has a human face and also deals with a very important aspect of our national life. The Pet Project Tagged : Advocacy For Mass Electoral Participation By Nigerian Electorates, which flagged-off with the launching of Queen Jasmine’s Foundation on the 1st of March,2013 at Ministry Of Women Affairs and Social Development- Model Motherless Baby Home/Day Centre, Awka Which happens to be her 21st birthday
The high point of the beautifully packaged, creavitively organized and dramatically presented event was the unveiling and decorating Of Queen Jasmine Nkem Mbonu as MBSN Democracy 2012/2013 by the three distinctive Beauty Queens (Miss CME, Miss UNIZIK and Miss Coal City) and Chairman Of the occasion including the Guest Of Honour, Mr Mike Chukwuemeka ; Special Assistant To The Deputy President Of The Senate- FRN, on Domestic Matters. This followed the official presentation of her entitlements; Car and other prizes won from the pageant already hosted by Akwa State Government under the anchorage of the commissioner for culture and tourism, Dr Clement Bassay on 15th of December, 2012.
There were other exciting attractions to the event especially with the mind blowing poetic presentation by the ever eloquent and articulate Peace Ambassador, Christabel Odeta titled; A Plea For Peace, with music performance by Return my Money crooner Biggie Brown and Abuja's fast rising art FLimzy. Looking every inch like a beauty queen, the Anambra born lady exudes a personality and beauty that epitomize the very essence of being a beauty Queen. In her well articulated speech she expressed her appreciation for the turnout, she said “I am particularly grateful to God Almighty, who in his infinite mercy and grace granted us the unmerited privilege to be here to witness this blissful long awaited moment. I am generally grateful to you all who have created time out of your tight schedule to honour my invitation not considering my shortcoming in the short notice given to you. I am grateful and indebted too.” On why the choice of the perceived herculean pet project for a beauty queen, she had this to say; I am sure some of you will be wondering why I have chosen this task as a pet-project. You may also question my competence and experience to handle this perceived thorny task. To clear the air, I must inform you that passion is the stimulant that induces competence. Experience Is the constant demonstration of purpose through desired results.
She further stated ;” my people the urgent need for decent electoral conduct through strict adherence to constituted electoral rules and regulations in our various communities is the central essence of my decision to undertake this task as the Queen of MBSN DEMOCRACY “ The event ended with a vote of thanks from the Project Director , Mr Val Igwebuike and more camera pictures at the colourful red carpet.
However, it is pertinent to note that the event was organized by Glees Concepts Ltd, a corporate promotion and integrated marketing communications company, famous for their focus and entertainment niche for Nigerian youths with particular attention to the youths in our tertiary institutions –Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges of education.The unveiling ceremony was also partnered by ABS Awka, Suiyke Fashion House, Sole Creation, Pal Eatry, Gaga Lounge, Lounge 24, Zitrude Make-up Artistry, NTA Int’l, Sound City, Glees Magazine, Queen Esther Magazine, Starlett Entertainment, AIT ,REMY Perfect Hair, BB SHOW Network,Zitrude Makeup Artistry
