NCAA issues new flight certificates to Dana Air, Skyjet

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) on Wednesday in Lagos issued new Airline’s Operators Certificates (AOC) to embattled airline, Dana Air, and the Kaduna-based Skyjet Aviation.
Dr Harold Demuren, Director-General , NCAA, issued the certificates to the airlines at the NCAA annex, Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos.

Man accused of killing pregnant lover

The family of a lady, Gloria Akpan, has accused their daughter’s lover, Ita Eyo, of killing her in his residence in Ayobo area of Ogun State.

Gloria and Eyo both from Akwa Ibom State had been cohabiting since March 2012 before the sad incident occurred on November 3. The lady was six-month pregnant before she died.

INEC De-registers 28 political parties

In a press statement signed by the Secretary to INEC, Abdullahi Kangama, the commission based its action on the power conferred on it by the 1999 constitution (as amended) and the electoral act 2010 (as amended).
The statement listed the deregistered parties as:
1. African Liberation Party (ALP)
2. Action Party of Nigeria (APN)
3. African Political System (APS)
4. Better Nigeria Progressive Party (BNPP)

42 Year Old Woman Arrested For Selling Babies In Lagos

The Police have arrested a 42-year old woman, Beatrice Nwankwo for her alleged involvement in the sale of babies at Ajegunle, a surburb of Lagos, Southwest Nigeria.
The suspect who claimed to be a nurse was using her one-room apartment at 83, Mosafejo Street, Ajegunle, Lagos as a facility where pregnant women were delivered of their babies.

Nigeria has gone deeper into terrorism and is now the 7th most-terrorised country in the world, according to the latest ranking of the Global Terrorism Index (GTI).
From the 16th slot in 2008, Nigeria went down to 11 in 2009; 12 in 2010; and now seven with a GTI of 7.24. According to the report, Nigeria recorded 168 incidents of terrorism in 2011 from which 437 persons died, 614 people sustained injuries and 33 properties were destroyed.This is not good.
