President Jonathan’s N9bn jet develops technical problem in Minna

    The presidential jet, Nigerian Air Force 001 (5N-FGT), had earlier conveyed Jonathan to Minna for the -Peoples Democratic Party’s North-Central rally which held at the Trade Fair Centre, Minna.
    At the end of the rally, the President returned to the airport in company with top government officials, PDP state governors and party chiefs for a trip to Sokoto, from where he was scheduled to return to Abuja.

50 gunmen attack Enugu government house

 According to reports, 50 gunmen who arrived in 7 buses attempted to attack Enugu State Government House in the early hours of yesterday Saturday March 8th but didn't succeed as security personnel attached to the Government House engaged them in a shoot out, preventing them from gaining entry.

Nigerian student in Malaysia allegedly shot dead by Malaysian police

 Nigerian student Adelabu Tunde (pictured above), from Ekiti State was allegedly shot dead by Malaysian police recently, this is according to his friends. Below is how they describe what happened

    "Police was raiding in another apartment, Tunde and his friends come back from school then the police car followed them. Tunde ran and got shot in head by a police man. Please share the truth. He was not fighting, he was shot by police that came for extra pocket money.! And the police left the scene as soon as he was shot." - Witness

They are calling on the Nigerian government to intervene and help them as they say they are constantly harassed and assaulted by the authorities in Malaysia for no reason. APC leader got N84billion contract under ex-CBN Gov Sanusi – PDP

    The Peoples Democratic Party has alleged that an unnamed leader of the All Progressives Congress got a contract of N84bn from the suspended Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Mallam Lamido Sanusi.
    The party said this was one of the reasons why the opposition party was pained when President Goodluck Jonathan suspended the CBN governor.

DNA test results show that B.Howard could be Michael Jackson's son

 There's a 99.9% chance a 31-year-old man is Michael Jackson's illegitimate son ... at least that's the claim after an alleged DNA test turned up a match.
    According to the test results -- obtained by Alki David and his company, FilmOn.com - Brandon Howard is almost certainly Michael's son. David told TMZ Live he got MJ's dental impression from a Beverly Hills doctor that he got at an auction. The impression is 30 years old but David says its filled with DNA.
    Brandon - who now goes by B Howard and looks and acts very much like Michael - was not present for the unveiling, but David says he had Howard's DNA and it matched up.

Michael Jackson has a 31-year-old son - at least that's what the man claims - and we're told he plans to go public on Thursday with what he believes is ironclad DNA evidence.
    His name is Brandon Howard - the son of singer Miki Howard, whom Joe Jackson represented back in the 1980s. Sources close to Brandon tell us, Miki and MJ met in 1982 and Brandon was born soon after.

Feni Fani-Kayode re-arraigned for alleged N100m money laundering

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, was re-arraigned on the 6th of March for alleged N100 million money laundering. Premium Times reports that Fani-Kayode told a Federal High court in Lagos that he was not guilty of all the 40 counts of money laundering instituted against him by EFCC

FG closes Federal Government Colleges in Yobe, Borno, Adamawa

Following the killing of over 40 students of the Federal Government College in Yobe State by Boko Haram members, the Federal Government has shut five FG colleges in Yobe, Borno and Adamawa

The schools that were shut down are:
*Federal Government Girls College, Munguno
*Federal Science and Technical College, Lassa in Borno
*Federal Government College, Potiskum
*Federal Government College, Buni Yadi in Yobe
*Federal Science and Technical College, Michika, Adamawa.

Minister of Education, Nyesom Wike, made this known yesterday Wednesday March 5th. The schools were closed because they were considered to be located 'within the high security risk areas in the North.'. The schools will remain closed until the security situation in the states improves, while the teachers of the affected schools will be sent to new schools.

 Raquel Neto Furtado De Andrade, 22, has been arrested and sentenced to two years in prison after trying to marry her fourth husband...a Nigerian.
According to the UK Daily Mail, Raquel, who had already married three Nigerians to help give them the right to stay in the UK was caught just minutes before she could marry her fourth husband.
Suspicious staff at the registry noticed she'd been there previously to wed other men and used the same wedding dress at each ceremony.

The Presidency  announced the sack of the Minister of Sports, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi who has been replaced by Tamuno Danagogo.
President Jonathan also swore-in 11 new ministers and assigned them ministries. The ministers are:
Musiliu Obanikoro (Lagos), Minister of State Defence
 Mohammed Wakil (Borno), Minister of State Power

 An Iranian man has been sentenced to having his eyes gouged out, his right ear and nose cut off as punishment for throwing acid in the face of a young girl causing her to lose her eyesight, right ear and nose, an Iranian court has ruled.

The Police in Plateau said 9 persons were killed on Tuesday night attack on Angwan-Waran in Riyom Local Government of the State.
Mr Chris Olakpe, the Commissioner of Police in Plateau, in Jos on Wednesday said that the attackers had fled the area before the arrival of security agents.

Couple arrested in Abeokuta for allegedly fighting nude in public

A man and his wife were today Wednesday March 5th arraigned in an Abeokuta Magistrates’ Court  sitting at Isabo for allegedly fighting nude in public over alleged infidelity.
The accused, Kehinde Soetan, 37,  and Aderinsola Lawal, 28, were arraigned for  breach of public peace. The duo, however,  pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Lagos High Court Lifts Ban Against Brymo

A Lagos High court today has lifted the injunction Chocolate City got against Brymo last year. The justice stated this morning that, since the plaintiff (Chocolate City) can be compensated at a later date, the defendant is free to carry out his duties as a singer so that none of the parties will be at a disadvantage. Brymo who was present in court wore a black native dress and was accompanied by his father and girlfriend.  The case has been adjourned till March 19, 2014.
