Ex-Oyo governor's son,Adebola Ladoja dies in auto crash

Adebola Ladoja,Son of  former Governor of Oyo State, Rasheed Ladoja, lost his life on Thursday in a ghastly accident on the Eko Bridge,Lagos. He was driving a Golf saloon car and was said to be on his way to Lagos Island when a Daf truck rammed into his car.The driver of the truck was said to be on  top speed,and lost control of his vehicle, ramming into the median of the bridge, before crashing into the deceased’s car.

It is understandable why Jay Z would feel uncomfortable.The guys knows too much ,has been there through it all (since 2009),and is the only one who knows the truth about that elevator fight..Lol..He protected Beyonce to the extent that, after the elevator fight, Jay Z wanted to enter her car with Solange but he directed Jay Z to enter another car.

Chibok Boy confesses to razing houses in Borno village for N2,000

A young Chibok boy named Ibrahim Tilitili has confessed to razing a few houses in his small village in Mandara Girau village in Biu LGA of Borno state, Vanguard reports. Ibrahim later claimed a man named Mallam Sani, also a resident of the village, gave him N2,000 to carry out the arson.
Ibrahim had set three houses ablaze, had caused serious panic and was getting ready to destroy more homes when some brave villagers apprehended him when they realized it was a lone attack.
The youths had wanted to lynch the young boy when elders in the village intervened and he was instead arrested and taken to Sarkin Baka- renown hunter in Biu town, where he confessed to being instructed to set the houses ablaze. He then led the vigilante in the area to the man who claimed asked him to do it. Both were arrested and handed over to police in Biu town.

President Jonathan offers amnesty to Boko Haram members

 The Minister of Youth Development, Mr. Boni Haruna  revealed plans by President Jonathan to grant amnesty to members of Boko Haram once they lay down their arms and embrace peace. The Minister revealed this while speaking this morning at the national Democracy Day programme tagged A day with young leaders of Nigeria.

 The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a man, Mr. Paul Obiefule, for allegedly beating his 12-year-old relative to death.The relative, who was identified as Onyedikachi Mbanozo, was staying with Obiefule, a bricklayer, and his wife on Omitola Street in the Agege area of Lagos.
Punch Metro learnt that Onyedika, as the boy was fondly called, was the son of Obiefule’s wife’s brother.
It was further gathered that the boy was beaten to death on Monday evening around 8.30pm, while the neighbours reported the matter at the Pen Cinema Police Division on Tuesday.

Panic as explosion rocks Kurudu,Abuja today

There was panic in the Kurudu, Jikoyi community in the outskirt of Abuja this morning after a loud explosion was heard. Residents in the area were reportedly seen running for safety when they heard the loud bang.

Pregnant Pakistani woman stoned to death by her own family for marrying a man she loved

 A pregnant Pakistani woman was stoned to death by her own family in front of a Pakistani high court - for marrying the man she loved, UK Daily Mail reports
Nearly 20 members of the woman's family, including her father and brothers, attacked her and her husband with batons and bricks in broad daylight.
Farzana Parveen, who was three months pregnant, was killed before a crowd of onlookers in front of the high court of Lahore, police have reported.

We know where Chibok girls are, but won't use force to rescue them - Military


Nigeria's Chief of Defense Staff Air Marshall Alex Badeh  said that the Nigeria military has been able to locate the 234 girls abducted in Chibok on April 14th but will not use force to rescue them because that could put the girls in great danger as the insurgents could kill them.
He revealed this today while addressing a group of protesters, the Citizens Initiative for Security Awareness, outside the Defence Headquarters in Abuja. He said the military knows what they are doing and should be allowed to continue their work
    "We want our girls back. The military can do it, but where they are held, can we go with force? The good news for the girls is that we know where they are but we can't tell you. Just leave us alone. We are working. We will bring the girls back" He said

Boko Haram attacks Nigerian military base

BBC reports that gunmen suspected to be members of Boko Haram attacked a security base in Buni Yadi, this evening around 5pm in Gujba LGA killing 24 officials. Residents of the area said the victims include 13 soldiers and 11 police officers and said the gunmen came in 10 Hilux vans, an armored tank, and several motorcycles.
BBC Hausa Service reports that the gunmen told residents of the area to stay indoors as their target were the security personnel in the town.
The men then proceeded to attack the military base, a local government secretariat and burnt down several buildings. Sorry guys for late posting.

22yr old mother sells her one-month old baby for N430k in Onitsha

     Three other women, Nkechi Ugochukwu, Maria Asomba and Esther Obi, who allegedly played roles in the sale of the baby were traced to Onitsha, Anambra State and arrested by the police.
    Enugu State Commissioner of Police, Mr Mohammed Adamu who disclosed this, told Sunday Sun that Huma got pregnant while prostituting. Her boyfriend who was not quite ready to bear the responsibility of fatherhood rejected Huma’s pregnancy.

UN blacklists Boko Haram

The United Nation Security Council committee yesterday May 22nd blacklisted Islamic sect Boko haram after the Nigerian government on Wednesday May 21st made a request asking for the sect to be blacklisted.

Photo: NDLEA arrests man with 2.6kg of cocaine packed as candies


52 year old Imo state born Onyejiaju Augustine was arrested yesterday by officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, for being in possession of 2.605 kilogrammes of cocaine packed as candies. He was arrested at the  Murtala Mohammed International Airport as he was about to smuggle the illegal drug out of the country en-route Etihad, Punch reports.
NDLEA spokesman Michelle Ofoyeju said Onyebuchi had been on the wanted list of the agency
    "Augustine, who is a specialist in drug had earlier departed Sao Paulo, Brazil, with the illicit drug disguised as candies. He was, however, caught at the MMIA in Lagos.”
Augustine when arrested said he was a supermarket operator in Brazil
    "I own a supermarket in Brazil where I have lived since 2006. I bought the cocaine and concealed it as candies. It was unfortunate that the trick was discovered." he said
NDLEA said the man will be charged to court soon.

Nigerian Military denies allegation of genocide in Borno


The Defence Headquarters has released a statement denying a claim today by a Kaduna-based cleric, Dr. Ahmad Gumi, that there is genocide going on in Borno where security forces/vigilante groups round up young men and kill them in a field for allegedly being Boko Haram members. (Read here).
The Director of Defence Information, Maj.-Gen Chris Olukolade, said the military is not involved in any genocide in any part of the country.

15 year old Deborah Peter, a Chibok indigene who now resides in Virginia, USA, was at the Capitol Hill, D.C yesterday May 21st, where she narrated her experience in the hands of Boko Haram. Deborah was at the US congress in her capacity as a Boko haram survivor, to lend her voice to the #bringbackourgirls campaign, as members of the congress debated on how to effectively win the war against the radical Islamic sect that abducted over 200 girls in Chibok on April 14th.

El-Rufai sues PDP, Olisa Metuh, Thisday for N1.5billion


Former FCT Minister and Deputy National Secretary to All Progressive Congress, APC, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, has instituted a N1.5billion libel suit against the PDP, its National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Olisa Metuh and ThisDay newspaper before a High Court in Abuja over statements he said were authorized by Metuh on behalf of the PDP linking him to the Boko Haram insurgency, which he finds defamatory.
 El Rufai said the defamatory statements were published in Thisday newspaper which he joined in the suit as third defendant.
