Wife Of Late Tai Solarin, Sheila Solarin Buried Amidst Heavy Downpour

The remains of wife of late Education icon, Dr. Tai Solarin,Mrs. Sheila Solarin were interred on Friday beside her late husband in their Ikenne home  amidst heavy down pour.
The  funeral service of the Briton  who died October 21, 2012 at Babcock University Teaching Hospital,
Ilishan-Remo at the age of 88, commenced at exactly 11:am and  was almost disrupted  by the heavy rain that few minutes after the programme started.
The heavy down pour prevented the casket bearers who brought the remains of Mrs. Solarin  in a  wood polished-brown casket to the venue of interdenominational service held within their palatial house from opening it.
The service which was anchored by Methodist Church, Nigeria had many prominent personalties in attendance ; the State governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun,his predecessor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel,wife of ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo, first son of late legal luminary Chief Gani Fawehinmi, Muhammed, ex-local government chairman of Ikenne, Tiwalade Sobo among others.
Speaking shortly before  Sheila’s remains were intered,Amosun announced that, a model School would be named after her,saying that Sheila served the country to deserve to be called a mother in the state.
According to Amosun “I commiserate with family of Solarin. She demonstrated a rare commitment with her husband. She served Nigeria. She is no more our wife,but,our mother. In honouring her, we would build one of the model schools inside this compound, as I told Corin earlier and we will name it after her."
In his tribute to the late Solarin widow, ex-governor Gbenga Daniel described her as a disciplinarian.she has done her best while in life. I want other people to emulate her attitude, it will be better for us”.
Earlier in his sermon, Presbiter, Ilishan Circuit Method Church,the very Revd. Joseph Osifuwa described the late mrs Sheila Solarin as a model who fufilled her purpose of coming to life. He said, Solarin made impacts on the society in her 88 years,urging Nigerians to emulate her good virtues.
