2 Nigerian students back home after over a year in hiding in Canada

The girls, who were students of University of Regina, had student visas which only permitted them to work only on campus and not outside. They didn't know working outside campus was not permitted under the terms of their student visas and when they were caught, they were put under a deportation order.
Victoria Ordu and Favour Amadi (pictured above), have been in hiding for more than a year and took refuge in four different city churches hoping that the Canadian authorities will forgive them...but that didn't happen. The authorities refused to budge and the girls had no choice but to return to Nigeria. They left Saskatchewan yesterday Friday Oct 18th. They were scheduled to get on a plane to Nigeria last night, so they should be here by now..
According to the BBC, the University of Regina President, Vianne Timmons, was at the airport to say good-bye to the ladies. Timmons said the girls left voluntarily in the hope that doing so would allow them to return to Canada later. The University is vowing to help the students come back.
