  1. Revealed: Akpabio Already Knew Gulak Was on His Way Out

Contrary to the prevailing gloating on the sack of Alhaji Ahmed Gulak, who until now was the Special Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan on Political Affairs, by forces loyal to the Akwa Ibom state governor, Chief Godswill Akpabio, Weekly Insight can authoritatively reveal that Ahmed Gulak had since been penciled down for replacement to the knowledge of Governor Godswill Akpabio.

A reliable State House Abuja Source, who spoke to Weekly Insight on the removal of the Political Adviser, said that the Adamawa politician was already on his way out before his recent visit to Akwa Ibom state. The source stated that one of the reasons why Akpabio and his men ignored the letter written to them informing them of the visit of the political adviser was that he already knew of the impending removal of the SA. The sources said, "Your governor already knew that Mr Gulak was already penciled down for replacement. That was why he felt that his visit was inconsequential and totally ignored him and his team. Gov. Akpabio has not been in very good terms with the Political Adviser, as he sees him as one influential aide that has not deferred to his self-acclaimed clouts in PDP politics. So it was easy for Akpabio, who is happy that Gulak was going, to completely pretend that his visit to Akwa Ibom state was not important."
